We report on long range signatures in scanning tunneling spectroscopy
of individual magnetic impurities (Fe, Co) embedded below a Cu(100)
surface. The interpretation of the observed Fano-like features centered
around the Fermi-energy is based (i) on the focussing properties of the
copper band structure and (ii) on many-body (NRG) calculations in
the framework of the single-impurity Anderson model. We find good
agreement with the experimental data.
