Strong electronic correlations in oxides give rise to high temperature superconductivity in cuprates, the colossal magneto-resistance in the manganites or multiferroicity in various oxide families. In addition, recent progress in the growth of complex oxides allows the fabrication of single layers and heterostructures of very high crystalline quality. This opens the path to study intriguing interface phenomena like the occurrence of a conducting interface between two insulating oxides.

In this talk I will present new experimental aspects on the preparation of LaAlO3/SrTiO3 bilayers and show new experiments on their conducting properties.
